Bonny: “The beautiful moments from this past season are things I dreamed of as a child. There is hunger to do even better.”

Ange‑Yoan Bonny has described his first season in Inter colours as a childhood dream made real—while also making it clear he’s not satisfied yet.
Speaking to Sky Sport during an interview relayed by Italian media, Bonny reflected on a campaign he called “wonderful,” saying he’ll take a short rest before returning with even more hunger for what’s next. He also highlighted Cristian Chivu’s role in helping him integrate, and explained the mentality required to remain focused when competition is elite and minutes must be earned. What stands out most is the human side: Bonny spoke about children, idols, and the emotions that shaped him—namechecking Ronaldo “Il Fenomeno” and Didier Drogba as the players who made his eyes go wide as a kid. And in a line that will resonate with Inter fans, he closed with a simple truth: “Heart is everything in this game.”
Full Sky Sport Q&A (all Bonny statements)
“I’m very happy. It was a wonderful season. We hope to keep going like this, but for now I’ll rest a little.”
Did you imagine your first season at Inter would be like this? What will you take with you?
“These are beautiful moments, the kind I dreamed of as a child. I’m very happy, and I’m even more hungry for what comes next.”
How important was Cristian Chivu for you?
“The coach was important in helping me settle into the team. We thank him for everything he has done.”
How difficult is it to stay focused when there are four top-level players ahead with you and to always be ready when called upon?
“It’s difficult, yes, but it’s part of the job, and it’s the most beautiful part of what we do. At a club like Inter, this level and this mentality are expected. We showed that, but we can still do even better.”
What are you expecting from next season? Maybe your first Champions League goal
“I expect to do what I’ve already done, and even more. We’ll try to improve.”
Do you ever think back to when you first arrived in Italy?
“Yes, I think about the journey I’ve been on, and it has been a beautiful one.”
At Parma, you often tried to give shirts to children to create a special moment for them.
“I was a child once too. I had dreams and idols as well.”
Who was your idol?
“Ronaldo the Phenomenon and Didier Drogba. When I saw a professional footballer, I watched with wide eyes. I try to give those same emotions back to children. Heart is everything in this game.”
