BREAKING: Yann Bisseck set to miss out on Germany’s 2026 World Cup squad

Inter defender Yann Bisseck is reportedly set to be left out of Germany’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in what comes as a major disappointment for the Nerazzurri centre-back.

According to a report from German outlet SPORT1, Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann will not include Bisseck in his final 26-man squad for the upcoming tournament.

The 25-year-old had been pushing for a place after another strong campaign with Inter, where he played a key role across multiple competitions. SPORT1 note that Bisseck recently celebrated a domestic double with the Nerazzurri before receiving the difficult international news.

Bisseck made his senior Germany debut against Italy in March 2025 during the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, but injuries have complicated his momentum with the national team. A thigh problem suffered during Inter’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain reportedly affected his chances of remaining in Nagelsmann’s plans.

Despite the setback, Bisseck’s rise over the last three years has been remarkable. After spells in Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Denmark, the defender established himself at Inter following his move to Milano in 2023.

The powerful centre-back has since become an important member of Inter’s defensive rotation thanks to his athleticism, physical presence, and composure in possession.

While the final Germany squad announcement is still pending official confirmation, multiple German reports now expect Bisseck to miss the cut.

For Inter supporters, however, the defender remains one of the club’s most valuable long-term assets heading into the 2026/27 season.
