German Grit & Pinstripes: Inter Heads to Donaueschingen

The Double-winners are heading to Germany. As Chivu finalizes his squad for Donaueschingen, Inter reveals a bold new away look inspired by the Big Apple.

To Germany with Love

The vacation is officially over. Cristian Chivu has finalized the traveling squad for Inter’s summer training camp in Donaueschingen, Germany, running from July 16 to July 26. According toInter Official website, the list includes the big guns like Barella, Bastoni, and Calhanoglu, but also a heavy emphasis on the "New Wave." Young stars like Pio Esposito—the breakout forward everyone is watching—and Aleksandar Stankovic are prominently featured. Notably, the list includes new signing Ivan Provedel, while the midfield section still feels like a transit lounge with players like Asllani and Massolin involved despite persistent exit rumors.

The "Baseball" Kit Debuts

While the squad packs their bags for Germany, the marketing team has been busy in New York City. Inter has officially unveiled the 2026/27 away kit, and it’s a design that will certainly spark debate in the bars around San Siro. Inspired by classic New York baseball aesthetics, the jersey features a clean white base with thin, elegant vertical blue pinstripes. Naturally, it carries the weight of history: two gold (blue) stars sit above the crest, flanked by the central Scudetto shield and the Coppa Italia badge. It’s a "born for soccer" jersey with a "Big Apple" attitude, and we’ll see it in action across Europe very soon.

Chivu’s Tactical Laboratory

Donaueschingen isn't just about fitness; it’s where Chivu plans to refine the tactical flexibility he teased at his press conference. With Djed Spence nearing a deal and Curtis Jones still a priority, this camp will be crucial for integrating the youth into the senior setup. Chivu wants "motivation above all," and the remote German location is designed to fix the team's focus entirely on the defense of the Double. The squad is a mix of seasoned champions and hungry prospects like Mosconi and Lavelli, ensuring that the hierarchy remains competitive from day one.

A Strong Foundation

Despite the noise of the Mercato and the legal shadows we've finally outrun, the atmosphere in the camp is reported to be electric. Marotta has provided a solid foundation, and now it’s up to Chivu to turn this group into a machine that can fight on four fronts. The presence of core defenders like Dimarco and Bastoni ensures that the spine of the team remains intact while the "crazy ideas" for the wing-backs are put to the test on the German grass. The season starts here.

The ForzaIM Take

I actually dig the pinstripes. It’s different, it’s clean, and let’s be honest—anything looks good when it has a Scudetto and two stars on it. The squad list shows that Chivu is serious about blooding the youngsters. If we can get through this camp without injuries and maybe add a certain Scouser to the flight, we are going to be unstoppable. Let the Germans see how the Champions of Italy work.

What do you think of the "baseball-inspired" pinstripes? Is it a modern classic or a swing and a miss?
