Inter 1-1 Verona: ratings say Inter controlled it — but couldn’t finish the job

Inter’s afternoon ended in frustration as Hellas Verona grabbed a 90’+1 equaliser to escape San Siro with a 1-1 draw. On the numbers, it looked like the kind of match Inter usually win: 74% possession, 2.71–1.20 xG, 17–14 shots, and 40–15 touches in the opposition box. The player ratings reflect that same story: Inter had several strong performances in control phases, yet lacked sharpness where it mattered most. Petar Sučić (8.0) was Inter’s standout by FotMob’s numbers, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan (7.7) and Stefan de Vrij (7.5) also among the best-rated for the Nerazzurri. At the other end, Inter’s attack didn’t get the grades: Ange-Yoan Bonny (5.9) and substitute Mattia Mosconi (5.8) were the lowest-rated Inter players on the day.

For Verona, the ratings underline why Inter couldn’t turn pressure into daylight. Lorenzo Montipò (8.0) was named Player of the Match, while the back line held up well enough to keep the scoreline alive until the late twist. The headline, ultimately, is that Inter produced enough territory and chances to win—but not enough separation—and paid for it in stoppage time.
