Inter vs Bologna: Official XI Confirmed

The Champions of Italy close out their historic double-winning season with a trip to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara on the final day of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign. With the Scudetto and Coppa Italia already secured, Cristian Chivu's side head to Bologna for one last match before the summer break — and with several players heading to the World Cup, squad rotation is expected.

Bologna, meanwhile, finish eighth and out of European qualification. Vincenzo Italiano's Rossoblù have nothing but pride to play for, but recent form has been strong, and they'll want to end the season on a high note in front of a sold-out Dall'Ara crowd.

Kick-off: 18:00 CEST, Saturday 23 May 2026
Venue: Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, Bologna
Referee: Kevin Bonacina
Attendance: Over 30,000 tickets sold

Official squad lists

Bologna (4-3-3):

Skorupski; De Silvestri, Helland, Lucumi, Miranda; Ferguson, Freuler, Pobega; Bernardeschi, Castro, Rowe

Inter (3-5-2):

J Martinez; Bisseck, De Vrij, Carlos Augusto; Diouf, Barella, Zielinski, Sucic, Dimarco; Pio Esposito, Lautaro Martinez

Key Notes:

  • Lautaro Martinez starts (chasing Capocannoniere)

  • Francesco Pio Esposito gets the start upfront

  • Yann Bisseck in the back three

  • Calhanoglu, Thuram, Dumfries, Akanji all rested (World Cup duty)

  • Frattesi out with muscular problem

  • Bologna missing: Orsolini (injury), Cambiaghi, Vitik, Casale

What to expect

Chivu is widely expected to rest key World Cup-bound players like Dumfries, Calhanoglu, and Thuram, though captain Lautaro Martínez starts as he looks to cap off his Capocannoniere-winning season with one final goal.

Bologna have been dangerous at home against Inter in recent seasons, winning three of the last four meetings at the Dall'Ara. The absence of Riccardo Orsolini is a blow, but the hosts still have quality in attack with Castro, Rowe, and Bernardeschi.

With nothing on the line for either side, this could be an open, entertaining finale to a memorable season.
