San Siro Renovation Plans Unveiled: A New Era for the Meazza
The city of Milan has approved the renovation plans for the iconic Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, commonly known as San Siro. The €400 million project aims to modernize the historic venue while preserving its legendary atmosphere.
The plans include expanding the stadium's capacity to 80,000 seats, adding a retractable roof, and creating a new museum and entertainment complex around the venue. The renovation is expected to be completed by 2029.
"San Siro is more than a stadium — it's a cathedral of football," said the project's lead architect. "Our design respects the history while embracing the future. Every seat will have a perfect view, and the atmosphere will be even more intense."
The project has received backing from both Inter and AC Milan, who will continue to share the renovated venue. Modern hospitality areas, improved transport links, and sustainable energy systems are all part of the ambitious plans.
For Inter fans, the renovation promises to enhance the matchday experience while maintaining the traditions that make San Siro one of the world's most iconic sporting venues.
