Stanković on Inter links: “National team first, then holidays — then we’ll talk”

Aleksandar Stanković continues to attract attention — not only for what he has shown on the pitch this season, but also for what his next move could be.

Speaking during an end-of-season moment in Belgium (as reported by Nieuwsblad), the midfielder reflected on his year with Club Brugge, describing the club as “a big family” and underlining the pride he feels after what was a successful campaign.

“Club Brugge is a big family. I’m truly very proud of myself, but also of my teammates and the club. We managed to win the second star, and that is something extraordinary.”

Stanković also addressed the influence of his father Dejan — a name that needs no introduction to Inter fans — and pointed to a simple principle that has shaped his mentality since childhood.

“What he always told me is similar to what is written on our shirts: ‘There is no glory without sweat.’ This is a rule I learned since I was a child. You have to give everything on the pitch; nothing can be taken for granted.”

Inevitably, the conversation also turned to Inter and the possibility of seeing him in Nerazzurri colours in the future. Stanković didn’t commit either way, but he didn’t close the door — instead, he made it clear that timing matters.

“In a few days I will leave to join the national team, then there will be holidays. There will be time to talk about it.”

For Inter supporters, it’s the kind of quote that lands exactly as you’d expect: respectful of the present, focused on the next immediate steps, but with an openness that keeps the storyline alive. The message is simple — no rush, but the topic isn’t taboo.
