Uncertainty Growing Around Bisseck And Carlos Augusto As Inter Renewal Talks Stall

Inter could soon face important decisions regarding the futures of Yann Bisseck and Carlos Augusto after contract renewal discussions reportedly slowed down in recent weeks.

According to reports from FCInter1908 and Nicolo Schira, neither player has accepted the club’s latest renewal proposals, creating growing uncertainty around two valuable members of the Nerazzurri squad heading into the summer mercato.

While there is no indication of an immediate rupture between the parties, the timing of the situation is beginning to attract attention inside Viale della Liberazione — especially considering both players were recently left out of their respective national team plans ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Bisseck’s situation becoming increasingly interesting

Yann Bisseck’s case may be the most intriguing. The German defender has reportedly recently changed agents, a move that often signals either preparations for improved contract negotiations or growing transfer interest from abroad.

At the same time, reports in Germany continue linking the Inter defender with Bayern Munich, who are believed to be monitoring his development closely after another strong season in Serie A.

Bisseck remains highly appreciated internally at Inter due to his athletic profile, versatility, and ability to defend aggressively in open space. However, after missing out on Germany’s World Cup squad, there is also a possibility that the player could begin evaluating whether a different role, or even a different club, might improve his chances of becoming a more regular figure for the national team moving forward.

For Inter, that creates a delicate balancing act.

The club still sees Bisseck as an important long-term asset, but renewal talks becoming complicated at the same time as external interest emerges is rarely a coincidence in the modern transfer market.

Carlos Augusto also seeking clarity

Carlos Augusto’s situation appears different in style, but potentially similar in motivation. The Brazilian has consistently proven himself as one of Inter’s most reliable squad players thanks to his tactical flexibility, professionalism, and ability to perform both as a wing-back and deeper on the left side of defense.

Yet despite his importance within the rotation, he has often remained outside the spotlight internationally.
After failing to establish himself firmly within Brazil’s World Cup plans, there is growing speculation that the player may also want stronger guarantees regarding role, visibility, or sporting importance moving forward.

Whether that translates into a push for improved financial conditions or simply a clearer sporting project remains to be seen.

Inter want solutions before the mercato accelerates

From Inter’s perspective, the objective will be avoiding prolonged uncertainty. The Nerazzurri are already planning several structural decisions this summer as Cristian Chivu and club management continue discussions regarding the next phase of the project.

Allowing two valuable squad assets to enter the season with unresolved contract situations is unlikely to be considered ideal internally.

At the moment, the feeling around Appiano Gentile is not one of panic — but rather caution.

Inter still believe both players can remain important parts of the squad moving forward. However, with transfer interest rising and international ambitions influencing player decisions ahead of the next World Cup cycle, the coming weeks could become increasingly important.
